There used to be a fantastic store in the next town to me – full of interesting games, ornaments, jewellery and scarves; all the sort of things that were really pretty and eye catching. The upstairs was entirely given over to crafting materials. I can recall taking my sister and husband there – they were both astounded at the amazing variety of items so carefully displayed. Being a hobby sewing genie since almost in nappies, my sister was oohing and aahing for a good hour. There were so many useful little aids for the complete crafter – things I understood very little about because that particular talent seems to have bypassed me entirely. We came away with bundles material swatches – ot for choosing what curtains to have, but these ones were absolutely perfect for my sister’s longest and most successful foray into the world of arts and crafts. Her expert quilt making. Now there’s a skill really worth writing home about!
