I would love to be one of those folk who really know how to make the most of their sewing machine. I’ve had one for years but never had any formal sewing lessons. I think this is what’s missing – knowing for sure the correct way to thread it up and of course, getting the bobbin threaded up first would be an achievement. There are many online lessons that can be bought for all sorts of subjects, but to be honest, I would have to research the best in the sewing skills on offer. I know that small shops are struggling with the drop in footfall – but there is one local store that bucks that trend. They always have a fantastic shop window, full of colourful yarns, knitting patterns, garments, sewing accessories etc. and they also take in machines to be repaired by a couple of workshops known to them. Absolute perfection!
